What happened: The Aquarius Migrant rescue has been drifting in the central Mediterranean sea after italy refused to allow to dock in its port. Finally, they have found a place to dock in Malta, Europe where the 67 unaccompanied children and the 74 scared adults and families will be housed by France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Spain.

Why is this something students need to know about: I believe this is an event students should know about because it shows how some of us are privileged to not have to worry about having to leave everything you love behind because you are being forced to leave your home and move to place where no one wants you.
Current event paragraph: On Tuesday August 14, 2018 the Aquarius migrant rescue ship was allowed to dock in Malta, Europe after Italy refused to allow it to dock in its port. The ship has been drifting around in the middle of the Mediterranean sea since rescuing 141 people the previous Friday. The Maltese government said “Malta will serve as a logistical base and all of the reportedly 141 migrants on board will be distributed amongst France, Germany, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.
