Main Players: The main players were the Welsh singer Tom Jones and the Welsh pop group Into The Ark.
Summary of the concert: There was a lot of things going on beside from Into The Ark and Tom Jones great performance. There was a man stopping people from throwing stuff on stage to get Tom’s attention and one lady wouldn’t stop trying to get on stage with Tom so she got kicked out and got arrested. Tom played my two favorite songs of his called “Delilah” and “What’s New Pussycat”. I enjoyed the concert even more because I’m the fourth generation of my family to go see him and because i am named after him. My great grandma, grandma and mum have seen him more than 10 times. My mother enjoyed so much she cried. Even though he doesn’t play the type of music I usually listen to, I have heard his songs so much growing up that i have begun to enjoy them and can sing along. Additionally, I feel the fact that my family has liked him for so many generation ties into my Universal Truth. Although my mum has lived in America for most of her life there are certain things from Britain that she feels connected to and wants me to be connected to as well. Also, he has a song called “Green Green Grass of Home” which describes a man longing to go home one more time which connects to the movie Lion that I watched as part of this project.
My Opinion: My opinion of the concert is that I wished that Tom Jones came on a little bit earlier so that i could see him for longer but I did enjoy Into The Ark and i really enjoyed Tom’s singing. There is obviously a lot of work that goes into making a concert as there was a large back up band and lots of lighting effects. The audience was crazy for Tom and sang along for all of his songs, I was probably the youngest one there but I think I enjoyed it as much as everyone else did. Despite Tom Jones being almost eighty years old, his voice is very strong and you could tell his voice was powerful when he sang some tunes without the band. I also enjoyed watching the audience because I could tell they were eager to have a good time.
Audience Demographic: I think the audience demographic would be older people because some of his songs are a little sexual and he was at his most popular quite a few years ago. However, a new audience may have discovered him as he is a judge on The Voice (or maybe because their mom forced them to see him like mine did)!
Score/Rating System: ⅘ I would have like to see Tom Jones a little more.
